easy wood projects
This Christmas is an extra special and HUGE one for us this year for the simple fact that my Wife will be here with us, thats a pretty big deal as we werent sure she would be for a good long while, she is doing so well that myself and everyone around us is starting to breathe a bit easier and there is a collective sigh of relief.
I also upgraded the shit out of my laptop and bought a good anti-virus program, I am taking NO more chances on having the laptop go into another full on thermonuclear meltdown! I picked up a pretty bad virus from a face book video, it very nearly destroyed my laptop, I had to wipe the hard drive 3 times to completely get rid of it.
This last weekend was BRUTAL weather wise, it was MINUS 40, colder than a witches tit on Sunday!, cold enough to kill penguins! And I swear I saw a herd of polar bears heading south !, yet despite the frigid temperatures I was out shovelling my driveway , it was so cold it turned the snow almost as solid as concrete and it took almost 3 hours of digging and shovelling to clear the drive, Id go sit in the mighty cavalier to thaw out every 15 or so minutes, and yes the car started in minus 40 with no problems because Canadian cars are equipped with block heaters and I bought a battery warmer ( a canvas electric blanket that you wrap around your car battery to keep it from freezing ) its rated for minus 70 so I wont have any issues this winter ,even at minus 55 the mighty cavalier (weenie mobile) will start right up. As for the Lady Bug (chevy aveo ) its pretty much a solid block of ice until next spring, I took the battery out and plugged the block heater in so the block wont crack in the frigid temps, I chose to drive my beater (the cavalier) cause if it gets hit Im not out any money ( it makes sense here to have 1 nice car and 1 beater) winter hits and everyone forgets how to drive.
So for Christmas I have been telling everyone who asks me what I want/need to get me Fruit Cakes, I am so addicted to them, I love them and could live on them, my Wife enjoys a piece now and then and our son cant stand them, but me OMG they are like manna from Heaven to me, I live for Christmas as its the only time of year I can find fruit cake, and eggnog , why they dont sell these year round is simply beyond me! I also put the word out around the village that if anyone gets gifted a fruit cake and they wont eat it, Id be more than willing to take it off their hands for them . as I said I LOVE FRUIT CAKE !!!
So December 7th is a pretty big day for our son, he is getting Baptized in our little village Anglican Church, its the only church out here so we go there, really its an all denomination church (like United) but a bit more old school and by the book, the denomination isnt as important to us, it is just a church, but his Baptism is of great importance to us, most people are baptized as babies or when they are very young, we wanted to wait until he was old enough to make up his own mind and make his own choices about what he chooses to believe. He came to us and asked if he could be baptized so I went and spoke to the Pastor who is also a good friend of mine and arranged for it to happen.
So I guess thats all the updates I have for now, Ill be more diligent with my posting here, sorry about that. So remember folks, express your love often, never take tomorrow for granted, and be kind to others
